Police officer stabbed while making arrest in London, Ont.

LONDON, Ont. — Police in London, Ont., say they’ve charged a 34-year-old man who allegedly stabbed a police officer early Tuesday morning.

They say the incident happened after an officer approached a man who was allegedly trespassing on private property just after 1 a.m.

Police say the officer was stabbed as he tried to arrest the man.

They say he suffered minor injuries and was released from hospital later that day.

Officers were able to track down the suspect with the help of a police dog.

Police say the suspect, who is from London, is charged with multiple offences, including aggravated assault of a peace officer, possessing a dangerous weapon and resisting arrest.
