Suspect in Hamilton double homicide found dead, police watchdog investigating

HAMILTON — Ontario’s police watchdog is investigating after the suspect in a Hamilton double homicide was found dead.

Hamilton police say they identified a 35-year-old man as the suspect in the deaths of a 62-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman at a home on Saturday night.

Officers say they located David Thomson at a motel in Brantford, Ont., early Monday and secured the area with the help of local police.

They say Thomson was later found dead in the hotel room.

The Special Investigations Unit says it will release more details later today.

Police say the victims have been identified as Donald Lowe and Cheryl Nicholl, both of Hamilton.
