Snow squall warning in effect for:
Agawa – Lake Superior Park
Snow squalls expected to continue today.
Snow squalls off Lake Superior will continue to affect the area this morning and persist through the day. Additional localized accumulations of 5 to 10 cm are possible by this evening, especially between Wawa and Missanabie.
Later this evening an area of light snow associated with a low pressure system is expected to move into the region and will provide additional amounts of 2 to 5 cm tonight.
Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight.
