September 21, 1928 to December 3, 2019 ~ Ken went home to be with the Lord at the age of 91 while at the Thessalon Hospital.
He was the third child of Charlie and Mary (nee Pace) Hopper. He is predeceased by his siblings John Hopper and Evelyn McAllister. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Born in Cloudslee, Ken lived and worked in the Bar River and Bruce Mines areas. He was a member of the Bruce Mines Lions Club for 35 years and passed away just prior to receiving his Chevron. He was an avid Grey Hound’s fan who was known to travel to Sault Ste. Marie via tractor or bicycle to attend their games. When he was no longer able to travel, he listened to their games on the radio. He never missed an annual turkey supper in the area…he was well known throughout the North Shore. Ken’s faith was important to him and he enjoyed going to church and visits from his Pastor.
A special thank you to the staff at Lighthaven Christian Home for their care over the years.
If desired the family appreciates donations to Lighthaven Christian Home by mailing donations to P.O Box 87, Bruce Mines, ON P0R 1C0 or to Lighthouse Community Church P.O Box 238, Bruce Mines, ON P0R 1C0.
At this time there are no services but a Celebration of Ken’s Life will be announced and held in the spring of 2020.
