Manitoulin OPP Arrest Impaired Driver After 9-11 Calls

(LITTLE CURRENT, ON) – On January 12, 2020, at approximately 5:58 p.m., officers from the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to traffic complaints of an erratic driver on Highway 6, south of Little Current, Ontario.

The vehicle was located and police determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol. As a result of the investigation, Andre LEBLANC, 52-years-old, from the Township of Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands, Ontario, has been charged with:

Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs, contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),
Operation While Impaired-Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus), contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the CC.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay on February 19, 2020.
