(MASSEY, ON) – On February 16, 2020, at approximately 1:48 a.m. members of the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break and enter in Massey, Ontario.
Officers attended and located the accused inside the residence.
As a result of the investigation, a 17 year old youth, who cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), has been arrested and charged with the following:
Break, enter a place – commit indictable offence contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC),
Sexual assault contrary to section 271 CC,
Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose contrary to section 88 CC, and
Failure to comply with undertaking contrary to section 145(4)(a) CC.
The accused was released on a release order and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola, on March 2, 2020.
