(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – On June 15, 2020, at approximately 3:10 p.m. members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and subsequently conducted a traffic stop on Highway 108 in Elliot Lake.

Police spoke to the driver who identified them self with a valid driver’s license. However, the driver could not produce the vehicle documents. While the driver was looking for documents, police observed a person in the backseat attempting to hide on the floor. After further investigation, it was learned that the passenger was currently on bail conditions. One of those conditions was not to be with the driver.

As a result, the passenger was arrested and charged.

Jessie Lynn FOURNIER, 25 years of age, of Elliot Lake, was charged with:

  • Fail to Comply with Release Order – other than to attend court (two counts), contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC).

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on August 4, 2020.
