TRAFFIC COMPLAINT LEADS TO BAIL VIOLATION
(BLIND RIVER, ON)- On July 2, 2020, shortly after 7:30 p.m., members from East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 17 near the Town of Blind River.
Police located the vehicle seven minutes later at a local restaurant parking lot on Causley Street. Police approached the vehicle and found a passenger in the front seat and a passenger in the rear seat. A query of a rear passenger revealed that passenger was breaching a condition.
As a result of the investigation, Jessie FOURNIER, age 25, from Elliot Lake was charged with: Failure to Comply with Release Order, contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code.
The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Video Bail in Blind River on July 3, 2020 and was remanded into Custody.
OPP LAYS MISCHIEF CHARGE
(BLIND RIVER, ON)- On June 27, 2020, members from East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic dispute that occurred the evening prior in the Town of Blind River.
Investigation determined, the ex-spouse attended the 38 year old victim’s home, left with a towel, set it on fire in the driveway and left.
On July 2, 2020, shortly after 5:00 p.m., police located the ex-spouse on Woodward Avenue and an arrest was made.
As a result of the investigation, a 35 year old, from Blind River, was charged with: Mischief-Domestic, contrary to section 430(4) of the Criminal Code.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on September 3, 2020.
