ELLIOT LAKE, ON – On Friday October 23, 2020, shortly after 10:30 a.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a theft that occurred the day prior at a local grocery store on Hillside Drive South in the City of Elliot Lake.
On October 22, 2020 at 4:26 p.m., the store’s video surveillance observes a person taking miscellaneous items and leaving the store without paying for them.
As a result of the investigation, Tammy BOWEMAN, age 34, from Elliot Lake was arrested on October 23, 2020 and charged with: Theft Under $5000-Shoplifting, contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on December 1, 2020.
