Iron Bridge Woman Crashes into Telephone Booths


(WHARNCLIFFE, ON) – On December 27, 2020, shortly after 8:30 p.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single car motor vehicle collision on Highway 129 north of the village of Wharncliffe.

Investigation determined a car was northbound on Highway 129 when it left the roadway sliding sideways into a ditch. The car continued on colliding with two telephone booths and came to rest in the parking lot of a local trading post.

As a result of the investigation, Tammy TONELLI, age 50, from Iron Bridge, was charged with:

  • Driving While Under Suspension, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Provincial Offences Court in Sault Ste Marie on February 5, 2021.
