This morning myAlgoma reported that the Algoma Public Health had received the first shipment of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine for the Algoma District. The doses were allotted for residents of long-term care homes in the district.
This evening myAlgoma is excited to report that the first resident of Algoma has received their vaccination. Larry Grekula, a resident of Mauno Kaihla Koti since 2006 and chair of the residents council, received his first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine at 1:04 p.m. today at the Ontario Finnish Rest Home.
“The vaccine means happiness, I am happy to get it and it is a start for the country to get back to normal… it feels good to be a part of making history!”, stated Larry.
Congratulations from the team at myAlgoma Larry!
