UPDATE: Weather Advisory For North Shore


1:11PM Environment Canada has ended the weather advisory for the area. Snow showers will come to and end from west to east in the district, with clearing later this evening.

Elliot Lake – Ranger Lake- Espanola – Killarney
Manitoulin Island
Winter Weather Travel Advisory in effect for this morning.

What: Snow, heavy at times. Total amounts of 10 to 15 cm are expected by early this afternoon. The highest amounts are expected along and south of the Highway 17 corridor.

Where: Southern portions of Algoma District including Sault Ste. Marie and Elliot Lake. This includes sections of the following highways:
– Highway 17
– Highway 129
– Highway 108

When: Through to early this afternoon. The heaviest snowfall is expected from 6:00 A.M. EST to 10:00 A.M. EST.

Actions: Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destination. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.

Discussion: A potent Alberta Clipper will track across central Lake Huron today bringing heavy snow. Accumulating snow will cause poor driving conditions, and impact the commute this morning.
