OPP lays assault charge in Blind River

(BLIND RIVER, ON)-  On March 20, 2021, shortly after 8:00 p.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to an assault that occurred on Woodward Avenue in the Town of Blind River

Investigation determined the complainant was seated in a vehicle and an exchanged words between two people occurred. The accused reached through an open window and grabbed the complainant and struck the complainant on the right side of the face.

As a result of the investigation, Carrie BYERLEY, 42 years-of-age, from Blind River was charged with:

  • Assault, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code.

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on May 6, 2021.
