East Algoma OPP respond to break and enter in Blind River – male arrested

(BLIND RIVER, ON) – On April 12, 2021, shortly after 12:00 a.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) respond to a break and enter at a local business on Hawkins Street in the Town of Blind River.

Investigation determined the suspect smashed a window, unlocked the door at the local business, stole property with an estimated value of $650 and retreated to his residence a short distance away.

As a result, Lee MARTIN, 28 years-of-age from Blind River, was charged with:

  • Break, Enter a Place-Commit Indictable Offence, contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC);
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC;
  • Theft Under $5000, contrary to section 334(b) of the CC; and with
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the CC.

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Video Bail in Blind River on April 13, 2021 and was remanded into custody.
