East Algoma OPP Elliot Lake Detachment Report

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – On April 26, 2021, members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) released an individual on an Undertaking and with numerous conditions in the City of Elliot Lake.

On June 9, 2021 shortly after 9:30 p.m., police located the person who was in breach of several conditions and as a result an arrest was made.

Spencer D’AMATO-KOSCH, 20 years-of-age from Elliot Lake was charged with:

Failure to Comply with Release Order-other than to attend court, contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code (five counts).

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Video Bail in Blind River on June 10, 2021 and was remanded into custody.

 

OPP LAYS THEFT CHARGE

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON)- On June 10, 2021, members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a complaint of a stolen bicycle that was posted for sale on social media in the City of Elliot Lake.

Police located an individual in possession of the stolen bicycle and a result an arrest was made.

Raymond YOUNG, 30 years-of-age from Elliot Lake was charged with:

Possession Property Obtained by Crime, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)
Fail to Comply with Probation Order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the CC.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on August 3, 2021.

 

OPP RESPONDS TO DOMESTIC DISPUTE

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON)- On June 10, 2021, at approximately 6:30 p.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on Washington Crescent in the City of Elliot Lake.

Investigation determined a couple had a verbal argument and ensued to where one partner was bit.

As a result of the investigation, a 67 year-old from Elliot Lake was charged with: Assault-Spousal, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on August 3, 2021.
