(ESPANOLA, ON) – On June 8, 2021 at 2:20 a.m., members of the Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on Haig Street, Espanola.
As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old person from Espanola, was arrested and charged with:
Uttering threats to damage property, contrary to section 264.1(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC)
Break, enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence, contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the CC
Carrying concealed weapon, contrary to section 90 of the CC
Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, contrary to section 88 of the CC
Assault a peace officer with a weapon (two counts), contrary to section 270.01(1)(a) of the CC
Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the CC
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the CC
Failure to comply with undertaking, contrary to section 145(4)(a) of the CC
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on July 19, 2021.
