With the number of new COVID-19 cases rapidly declining in Ontario, the trend here in Algoma appears to have followed suit with Algoma Public Health reporting only three new cases across the district in the past week.
Cases #395 and #396 from Elliot Lake and area were reported June 9, 2021 with one having a cause of exposure listed as unknown, and the second close contact after being tested on June 8, 2021.
Case #397 from Sault Ste. Marie and are was reported yesterday June 11, 2021 with cause of exposure close contact after being tested the same day.
All three cases are self-isolating at this time.
Sault Ste. Marie and Elliot Lake are the only areas in the district having COVID-19 cases reported over the past 14 days. There are currently 7 active cases and one hospitalization related to Algoma Residents and one active case with two more hospitalizations related to residents from outside our health district.
To date, 390 cases are now reported as resolved.
